The CYMA was formed (as the Croydon Music Centre Association) in 1976 and supports the work of the Croydon Music and Arts music centres.

The Association raises funds to purchase expensive instruments and equipment.  Since its formation the CYMA has purchased many instruments including double basses, cor anglais, bass clarinet, euphonium, tuba, bass flute, E flat clarinet, acoustic bass guitar, timpani and various percussion instruments.  It has also been responsible for fund raising towards the tours abroad undertaken by the senior groups.

Members of CYMA also assist with non-musical tasks including running a tuck shop at centres and the box office and providing refreshments at concerts.  The Committee is elected annually at the AGM, which is usually held in December, and will be pleased to hear from any parents/carers wanting to support their work.
