Out of School Arts Activities

Many young people will wish to develop their interests and talents beyond the classroom. Schools will wish to develop such opportunities themselves, often in collaboration with others as part of extended school activities, and there are many other providers of such activities.

Our first step will be to carry out a consultation with young people in partnership with schools. From this consultation we shall begin to build up a picture of the activities children and young people already enjoy, and additional activities they would like to see.

Working in partnership with schools, Extended Schools clusters and youth service Positive Activities for Young People we shall support the development of these additional activities.

We shall wish to ensure that information about these activities and any funding to support them will enable all children to have access. In particular those with the talent and motivation should have a route which will enable them to fulfil their potential, including the possibility of entering higher education and a career in the cultural sector.
